A LONG TIME COMING
It has been multiple years since the Clear Creek Amana marching band got new uniforms. To be specific, 16 years. The band has also been growing to a very large number of people. Since we have been growing so much, CCA moved up to class 4A when competing at competitions. There were only so many uniforms to go around. Those are the two main reasons why we got new uniforms.

According to Christopher Copeland, the marching band director, the band has raised over 50,000 dollars! So far, they have ordered new hats, new gauntlets (which are the wrist wraps), and new jackets! Fine Arts and Music Enhancers, otherwise known as FAME--a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting, promoting, and enhancing education and student activities in the fine arts and music programs for all K-12 students across the Clear Creek Amana Community School District--was a primary donor for the fund, and vital to our uniform upgrade. When asked in an interview about the donations, Copeland said, “FAME did an incredible job advocating for our students and reaching out to businesses, community organizations, families, and other supporters to help make this project a reality.” He also wants to thank the community for all the support they have given.
People in band are very excited for the new uniforms! A few things people specifically like about the design are the plumes, which are the feathers on the hat, and that the design seems to match CCA’s sharpness and colors of the design more. Multiple people commented on how much they liked that the new uniforms will have cooling material, making it much more manageable for the band to wear in more extreme temperatures. An anonymous source said that they would love it if we could incorporate more sparkles into the uniforms.

Natalie Schieltz, a sophomore who plays the clarinet, said, “I think the design looks great and I’m very excited to wear them in a few weeks.” Schieltz also commented, “I wish that the hat was the same or had the CCA design on it like the jackets. I'm not a big fan of our school logo on the hat, but it’s still cool.”
Altogether, this is a huge achievement for the band. This is going to help us look towards the future of Clear Creek Amana’s marching band and will hopefully be just one step of CCA’s growth within the next few years.
