The long awaited movie about a game that has been soaring through the internet for 16 years, and is still to this day being worked on by developers, A Minecraft Movie. This movie follows Garrett “The Garbage Man” Garrison (Jason Mamoa), Henry (Sebastian Hansen), Natalie (Emma Myers), Dawn (Danielle Brooks), and they are led by the expert minecrafter, Steve (Jack Black). This movie is a rollercoaster of emotions for a lot of fans due to the sheer love for the game previous to the movie
On the day of April 4th 2025 the movie was finally released to the audiences to watch and fans took this as an opportunity, with several groups going to the theatres to watch this movie dressing up as various characters or creatures from the movie. Recently on the popular social media platform TikTok, people have been making videos of their groups going, and when different scenes from the movie had been revealed the audience would yell in unison the same quote from the movie. While in the midst of yelling these quotes there was chaos - people throwing their popcorn in the air and creating a mess of the theatre they were in due to the popular “Chicken Jockey” scene within the movie.
This has been eradicated due to a widespread of theatres across the country showing a preview screen before the movie reminding the audience to keep it friendly, and to respect the people around you as well as the theater.

Although there were several moments where the movie was interrupted by the audience, this movie made way more box office sales than originally anticipated. When arriving upon the weekend of release analysts projected that the movie would make around $80 million dollars. This was soon debunked once the movie hit the screens, with the movie making nearly double that estimate at $157 million dollars from the US and Canada. Internationally the movie is looking at gathering another $144 million with a total of a $301 million dollar global debut. These numbers broke the box office as it was not expected of the movie to make this much in sales.
When producing the movie, it took $150 million to make it, not including promotion expenses and marketing for the movie. Warner Bros. released the movie in 4,263 locations domestically and 36,000 screens internationally for the audiences to watch. Within the audience, it was made up of 62% men and 64% of the audience was under the age of 25. Over the years there have been several video-game adaptations including “Super Mario Bros. Movie.” , “Sonic” , and “Five Nights at Freddy’s.” and now within this group, “A Minecraft Movie”. Now, hopefully like some of the other movies I listed, there's more to the story of Steve and the realm of Minecraft.
