The original Beetlejuice movie came out in March of 1988. It is an hour and thirty two minutes long. The new movie came out on September 6th of 2024 and it's an hour and forty four minutes long. Some things that I'm excited about for the new movie is that they are bringing back Winona Ryder who played Lydia Deetz and Micheal Keaton who played the original Beetlejuice. Jenna Ortega is also going to be playing Lydia's daughter in the new movie for the first time. I decided to watch the original movie again before seeing the new one so I could really compare the two. Some things I love about the old movie are, Beetlejuice's makeup and hair and I think the musical parts are always on the funnier side, Winona's hair was always something I also loved to look at throughout the movie.

In the new movie I really loved how they kept Lydia's hair, Beetlejuice's makeup, and his main outfit the same. They also introduced Beetlejuice way earlier in the movie than in the original one which I really liked. Some key things that stuck out to me while watching the movie were how they showed a little bit of addiction, and how different people deal with grief when it comes to the passing of loved ones. There were a lot of new people introduced that played a big part in the new movie but someone I'm really happy they brought back was Lydia’s step mom who is played by Catherine O’Hara. I didn't really like her in the first movie but in this one she was one of my favorite characters for sure. She has a very sassy and boujee personality which I loved. There were also so many plot twists and things that would happen that you wouldn't expect. They did a good job at playing with your emotions and having you on the edge of your seat the whole time. In my opinion this one was better than the original movie, the new characters really added to the movie. I would definitely recommend this movie to all age groups and personally give it a 10/10!!
