High school Boys Soccer starts March 16th. Until the official start of their season they have open field practices on both Tuesdays and Fridays after school. The Boys Soccer team is coached by high school teacher and soccer coach Tim Benson. Benson is the head coach of the varsity and JV teams with both assistant coaches, Chad Streit and Jackson Rosenberg. Benson has been coaching at CCAHS for eighteen years.

Off the soccer field Benson teaches Engineering and Core Algebra II within the high school. As a high schooler Benson also played soccer. When asked what he likes about coaching soccer Benson replied, “It is a sport that requires and rewards effort and teamwork.” Following this, Benson was asked if he didn’t coach soccer what other sport(s) he would coach and replied with, “Ultimate Frisbee and Cross Country.” Benson went on to say that “I played Ultimate Frisbee for a lot of years and had a little club going at CCA that would play once a week, but it had been a while since anyone showed interest in playing and I can't run or jump like I used to.” Benson’s hopes for this season (same as always) are for the team shown in this year's picture to be the same guys who finish the season with the team.
People whose support he is thankful for include his fellow coaches Chad Streit, Jackson Rosenberg, girls soccer coaches Rachel Carney and Kasey Bortz, the high school’s athletic director Kurt Ronfeldt, and all the other teachers, staff, parents, and community members. All which contribute “to the many needs of our team”, he said.
