A Final Goodbye

Mark Moody has been teaching for 32 years -- 19 of those years have been spent in the Clear Creek Amana School District. During a final interview with Mr. Moody I quickly realized that he has had many accomplishments throughout his career in education.

One of the first things that he shared about was growth. Mr. Moody shared that he was focused on the growth of the school throughout his time as principal. Moody is so proud of how much more diverse the school has become since he started working here. He went on to share about how proud he is of the staff here at the high school. Moody explained, “I feel like they all use a mindset everyday to help students in any way they can.” He was even a little emotional when she talked about how “loving and family oriented” the staff is towards one another.

Additionally, he talked very highly about the recent musical of the Wizard of Oz, and all the improvements of the fine arts programs. He is also happy to see things like Peer to Peer, the Unified Field Day happenings, and the general support and volunteering that occurs throughout the year. Finally, Mr. Moody shared that, “he doesn't really have a set plan for after this school year ends, but he wants to spend a lot of time with his family and kinda unplug.”
