International Women's Day is a national holiday that celebrates women’s rights and women’s achievements. International Women's day (Also known as IWD), is celebrated on March 8th. The holiday is for promoting women's rights and to pay tribute to women's achievements. It's a national holiday in multiple countries. International women's day was created in the early 20th century to advocate for women's rights, and especially suffrage. International Women’s Day, written by The Editors Encyclopedia Britannica, “In its campaign for female enfranchisement, the Socialist Party of America in 1909 held the first National Woman’s Day, which was highlighted by mass meetings across the United States...”. Over one million rallies had been attended, making the day a holiday. This holiday was celebrated all over the world, on various dates. The official date wasn't March 8th until 1921. This holiday is very important for women, especially for the women who went through the women’s suffrage movement. Some women try to tear other women down, but we should try to bring each other together not farther away.
