The girls soccer seniors are taking time to reflect on their time, the memories they’ve been making, and the lessons they’ll carry with them after high school. We interviewed senior Alex Schrage about her experiences on the field and about much more than just the game of soccer. One of Schrage’s favorite memories is “going out to eat at B-Dubs with all the girls after a game.”

We asked Schrage what her hardest part of soccer was. She went on to say that it’s hard to keep her cool when other players shove or push into her, or purposely trip her. “It definitely tests my temper and I often say things I probably shouldn’t,” she states.
When I asked her what helped her improve the most during her years in soccer she said, “I improved the most by being coachable— really listening to what my coaches said and then actually doing it.”
Lastly we asked Alex what is best advice she could pass down to her peers or for incoming soccer players. “The best advice I could give anyone playing soccer or really any sport is to constantly give 100% of your effort specifically in games. Me personally, I'm not the greatest skill wise but I will run my hardest for a ball and will always hustle and that's why I get varsity playing time,” she said. As Alex Schrage and the rest of the girls soccer senior class move forward, they’ll leave behind a mark that coaches, friends and teammates that many will hold dearly. Their memories recall what soccer is really about, trying your hardest, learning, and having fun with whatever you put your mind to.
