Clear Creek Amana High School is proud and excited to shine a spotlight on one of our teachers, Ms. Wilford. Wilford started teaching math in August 2014 and became a teacher at CCA in August 2021, teaching Algebra. When Ms. Wilford isn’t teaching, she likes to travel. This past summer she traveled to Senegal, Gambia, Ghana, Togo, Washington DC, Canada, Spain and Morocco. In addition to traveling, she also likes the sports teams Iowa Hawkeyes, the Green Bay Packers, and the Chicago Cubs. Wildford’s interests don’t stop there - she also loves to read. Her favorite book is Gone With The Wind

In a recent interview with Wilford, she opened up and shared that her favorite part of being a teacher at CCA High school is, “The Collaborative Spirit among my fellow teachers, who I consider my friends.” Another part of teaching that Ms. Wilford likes is, “The students are not only driven and hardworking, but also have a sense of humor that makes everyday enjoyable.”

Lastly, Wilford says that “What truly sets this school apart is the administration because their leadership, support and guidance is the best I have ever experienced in the 3 districts I have taught in Iowa.”

Ms. Wilford is also a native of Solon, which is home to the Solon Spartans (BOOOO). When Ms. Wilford isn’t watching or talking about her favorite movie of all time, The Wizard of OZ, she is helping students not just with math, but their personal problems as well.

She is an amazing teacher! Clear Creek Amana High School is lucky to have her on our staff.
