Clear Creek Amana High School is proud to share a spotlight on Senior volleyball player, Sariah Sherman. Sherman explained that since the age of 8 she has been involved with volleyball. She first started playing at rec centers  around the area and then eventually for club teams in both Iowa City and Cedar Rapids. Sherman went on to share that while competing in volleyball games she doesn’t find herself getting “too nervous” because of how long she has been playing. Sherman continued to share that “the most challenging part of volleyball is not being overcome by the copious amounts of noise.”

This year, the volleyball team were participants in the state tournament, but were eliminated in the second round. Sherman, a standout throughout her time on the CCA volleyball team has earned various awards, including 2 honorable mention all conference honors.

Ultimately, Sherman says that any sport, even volleyball, is difficult in its own way, but being part of a team makes everything a little bit better.
