Inclusion Week was held from March 2 through March 6 at Clear Creek Amana High School along with other schools in surrounding communities. During this week students participated in dress up days to certain set themes. The dress up days were as follows: Monday: Pajama Day, Tuesday: Jersey Day, Wednesday: Special Olympics/School Spirit Day, Thursday: Mismatched Day, and Friday: Neon Day. With this being said, why do we have Inclusion Week when all we do is dress up?

Inclusion Week is not just about dressing up; It is actually much more than that. Each spring the organizations Special Olympics Iowa and Best Buddies partner together to create Inclusion Week. Not only is this week during Annual Day of Awareness, which was on March 3, 2026, but as PE and health teacher Samantha Moss stated it is “to promote, advocate and celebrate inclusive efforts taking place in 150+ schools and surrounding communities.” So it is more than dressing up, dressing up is just an added bonus that shows our support. It makes us all feel included.
