Many people hold CCA high school together like glue, two of those staff would be Mr. Adcock and Ms. Corie. Without them, I am confident that CCA would not be the same. They both do so much for our school and  they are never really put into the spotlight regardless of how much both of them do for this school. Their work usually goes unnoticed by students and staff alike, and everyone deserves to have their work noticed.

Mr. Adcock

Adcock said that there were multiple reasons why he chose to become a building sub, rather than a full time teacher. Firstly because he wanted to stay close to home, and also because the students really enjoy having him around. In addition to this he thought that the position was fun because it lacked the big responsibilities that a full time teacher has. Adcock also mentioned that being a full time teacher in his future. When asked “Do your experiences in high school affect the way you treat kids now?” Adcock responded, “For me, I know there were certain teachers that I liked when I was in school and I would say that I model a lot of the ways I act and treat kids based on the way I was treated.” Adcock also said that he tries to go to school events like the choir concert, the musical, basketball, football and volleyball games.

Ms. Corie

Ms. Corie said that she loves her position as our front desk person and that she gets to see most of all the students every day. When the position opened up, she didn't really want to take it because high schoolers scared her, but thankfully her kids talked her into it. She also likes to have a finger on the pulse of CCA high school, knowing what everyone is up to. Her response to the question, does your experience in high school affect the way you treat kids, was “High school was too long ago to really affect my job. Now it's more on my parenting.”
