The Clear Creek Amana’s Girls Junior Varsity Soccer team started practicing back in early February. The  team had their first game on April 3rd at Mount  Pleasant. A member of the JV girl’s soccer team is  player 17, Gabi Henriquez. On the field Henriquez is  classified as a Striker. She sums being a striker down to “I can go to the middle of the field ” and when the soccer ball gets to her she “put[s] it into the goal”. Henriquez has been playing soccer at CCA for a total of 2 years, her whole time of playing soccer totalling to 7 years, 5 of those years being at a club. As of now, her favorite part of the season is “being able to what I love” and “working as a team with my friends”. As of right now one of her goals for herself “is to pull through like I did last year” as in “when I don’t have motivation”, instead of giving up she plans to “fight into the end”. It is so refreshing to hear a players perspective as all we ever truly see is them on the field. So good luck to player 17, Gabi Henriquez, and the rest of the Girls JV Soccer team.
