The Night of Jazz was on Saturday April 12th. The Night of Jazz was a night where people could come and listen to jazz band and ensemble play some of their pieces. Jazz ensemble played four pieces. Three of them were pieces from jazz legends Roy Hargrove, Horace Silver, and Dr. Bob Washut. They also played the theme song from Cowboy Bebop called Tank. Mr. Bills, who is the director of jazz ensemble, was very proud of the band and said they did very well. He is looking forward to their final performance which is in front of the Graduate Hotel on May 30th at 6:30 p.m. Jazz band played some amazing pieces too. They played Change Up by Carl Strommen, Cardinal Shuffle by Bob Washut, I Found a New Baby arranged by Mark Taylor and a rock tune What Do you Say by Ken Harris. Mr. Copeland, the Jazz band director, was very happy with how the band did this performance. This was the final performance but Copeland thinks overall that they did amazing all year.
