The boys team has also been able to boast a pretty good record, coming in with 19-4. They also won the WaMaC West conference championship and the overall WaMaC conference. Basketball in general is a huge commitment, as it can last up to 5 months, starting in november and not coming to an end until March. With games multiple times a week, it really shows just how dedicated these players are.

Senior Cale Berry was asked a few questions about basketball. He’s been playing since the young age of five, showing off years of dedication. His favorite part was winning the overall WaMaC conference, an exciting accomplishment. His least favorite part was understandably losing to Solon. Another senior, Brock Hillsman, was asked the same questions. Similarly, he has also been playing basketball since age five. His favorite part of the season was winning against Mount Vernon, with his least favorite part being the first week of practice. The Boys basketball coach, Brandon Clubb, also felt that the season was quite successful. Winning both the WaMaC West conference championship and the overall WaMaC conference was an exciting accomplishment for the team. Clubb has been coaching basketball for an impressive twenty-three years, sticking with his team through all the ups and downs. I imagine both the coaches and athletes are quite proud of this wonderful season.

The CCA girls varsity basketball team is currently boasting a 15-8 win ratio as their season comes to an end. It was overall a good season, with the girls placing second at conference.

For sophomore Adeena Bila basketball has been a fun activity for 6 years now. Her favorite part of basketball has been making new friends. Trying a new sport or activity is a great way to meet new people and make some new friends, as you already have something in common. Adeena also mentioned her least favorite part was definitely the conditioning, which is quite understandable considering how long the season is and the frequency of games.

The head girls wrestling coach, Megan Carlo, was kind enough to answer how she felt the season went. She felt the season was “a tremendous success” with constant improvement both physically and mentally across all wrestlers. This year's team was happy to accept many wrestlers with only a year or two of experience, but overall showed immense growth. Ms. Carlo's favorite memory of this season was the North Scott tournament. “One of my favorite moments this season took place at the North Scott tournament, and I chose this event for two reasons. First, I had the privilege of seeing my assistant coach, Stormy Baumens, get teary-eyed. Coach Baumens has poured countless hours into this program, both as a coach and as a former CCA wrestler. Witnessing that moment of pride—not just for the athletes but for the program as a whole—was truly special.” She also just felt seeing the athletes put the training and skills to use while wrestling was extremely rewarding for not only her but the athletes and their families.

The boys season ended with an impressive forty-five wrestlers, and each and every one of those members made an impact. This year was the second year CCA wrestling has qualified for the Regional Duals and impressively the second straight year to have 11 wrestlers qualify for the state tournament. They finished second, which is the best in CCA history. Season senior Nolan Howell was the team's only placewinner finishing 5th at 144, with senior Cale Nash just barely missing the podium. Several school records were also set, showing the immense amount of improvement over the years.

Coach Bradford Smith also mentioned, “it was a privilege working with the CCA wrestling team this season while Coach Forness was deployed.” He felt that all the wrestlers were respectful and easy to work with, commending Coach Forness for developing such a great environment within the program. He also wanted to thank athletic director Kurt Ronnfeldt and his coaching staff of Adam Endres, Tyler Endres, Fletcher Green, and Connor Corbin for all the support.
