HURDLING INTO A NEW SEASON

The CCA girls and boys track and field team is coached primarily by Ben Robison. Track practice is held every day after school from 3:45 to 5:30pm. There have already been a few track meets and they have gone very well. I ended up interviewing 2 freshman girls from the track team to ask them about their track season and how it is going so far. First, I interviewed Amiah Parker and these are the questions/answers:

What events do you do? 

“I do 50m, hurdles, and baton races.”


What's your favorite part about running track? 

“My favorite part about track is doing hurdles because they are really fun and as you improve over time you start to feel accomplished.” 


How did your most recent track meet go?

“It went good, I ran a 4x1 with Gloria Kbabolo, Chloe Hochstien, and Sydney Bernardy and we got 3rd place on that”


Why did you decide to do track and what are you most looking forward to this season?

“I like doing track because it's a nice calming sport for me, and I am most looking forward to PR in the shuttle hurdle.” 


Next I interviewed Keira Rosenburg and this is what she said: 


How have your most recent track meets gone so far? 

“They have gone pretty well.” 


What events do you do? 

“My events are sprints and sometimes hurdles.”


Why do you do track?

“I run track because it's fun and I also like to stay in shape for cross country.”


What is your favorite part about track? 

“My favorite part about track is getting the experience of being in something competitive at a higher level and getting to challenge myself on the track.”
