Layout of Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving is an annual and federal holiday in the United States that occurs the last week of November, particularly on a Thursday. It is a time of the year where many people thank God and all of the angels in Heaven for what they are thankful for. It is also known for the many foods, religious services, parades, football games, and time spent with family.

Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade

Every year since 1924, the company, Macy’s has held an annual parade in New York City in the borough of Manhattan. The parade lasts a total of 3 hours and tours near the downtown area. The parade consists of multiple notable characters from different television broadcasting systems. Notable characters in the past have consisted of but not limited to Barney, Elmo, and Olaf.

Black Friday

Black Friday is the busiest time during the month of November, many stores have an annual store sale. It is busy because people rush into the stores making the stores become overcrowded. This has caused some stores being closed or having sections of the store closed for other shoppers.

Saying Thanks and Prayers

Saying your thanks and prayers firstly shows how thankful you are. In addition when one prays, pray, their prayers can be thanks to God for friends and family. When someone says they are thankful for something it brings joy to everyone around them. Saying your prayers reminds everyone about how thankful someone is for anything they can think of.

Thank You Cards

Giving thank you cards is a kind gesture, by giving someone a card saying thank you, it makes them happy. In addition of a thank you card if you buy them something, they will also be thankful for what you bought them.

Pulling the Wishbone

Pulling the Wishbone is a tradition where two people pull the opposite sides of a dried turkey or chicken wishbone and make a silent wish until it breaks. The person with the larger side of the Wishbone is believed to have the wish granted. This tradition has evolved through the Romans and English before reaching America with the Pilgrims.

A Tree Farm

You can take beautiful pictures in a tree farm during Thanksgiving. The colors of the leaves during the Fall months are yellow, orange & red, which creates a beautiful scenery for the background of the photo.

A family photo for Thanksgiving can also be used for a Christmas card, but it is mostly used during Thanksgiving because the holiday is in November. Family photos for Thanksgiving can also be taken in beautiful sceneries outside or with a green screen.

Watching Football is one of the biggest parts of Thanksgiving, nearly everyone watches Football during Thanksgiving. A record has been set to 141 million people watching the sport during the Holiday in 2024. There are three NFL games during Thanksgiving with more than 30 million people watching.
