In this comfy season full of fun and fright, it's nice to sit down and fall into a world that could be similar to ours or nothing like it. Yes, I’m talking about books. Specifically, how people spend the fall season reading, because I know that there is no better way I like to spend the day than reading. It is a good way to jump into an exciting or spooky journey without having to leave the comfort of your favorite spot.

Seasonal Reading

In the reading world there are so many different options to choose from. In the form of genres like Fantasy, Graphic Novels, Dystopian, and Action. But with the changing seasons you might want to change it up with the books you read. Out of the 28 people that were polled, 4 people said that they change their books to be thematic with the seasons, but 6 said that they don’t change their books for the season. The rest of the 28 people said that they change their books to be thematic some of the time. The most popular genres from the people that were polled were Fantasy and Mystery with 11 votes each, Romance with 10, and Horror having 8 votes.

Books

Everyone has their book of choice for this time of the year. Some have planned what they will read at this time of the year, but some find a book that they read back to back after each other. One of these books was The Un-honeymooners, by Christina Lauren, which is a romance book about this girl named Olive, and her friend who was supposed to get married and have a honeymoon in Hawaii. Except the wedding party including the bride and groom got food poisoning. Olive took the chance to go to Hawaii but she had to go with Ethan, who she hates with a passion. Another book was Dr. Sleep, by Stephen King, which is a horror book that is the sequel to the Shining, one of his most popular books. This book is about the 12 year old boy from the Shining when he is grown, Dan Torrance, and a 12 year old girl named Abra Stone. This book follows them on a cross country road trip running from a tribe called The True Knot. They live forever and live off the steam from children with the Shining as they are slowly tortured to death. One other one is Paper Towns by John Green.

This mystery is about a kid named Quentin Jacobsen who likes this girl Margo Roth who climbs into his window dressed as a ninja. After that night they go on a campaign of revenge with all nighters. Then school starts up and Quentin is surprised to see Margo at school, but throughout the school year he is surprised to learn that he knows less and less about her. These were just a few of the books people are reading in the fall season.

Where People Love to Read

As the weather gets colder and people aren’t spending as much time outdoors, they are starting to warm up their favorite spots to read. Most people choose a spot that they thought was the most comfortable for them, like a place in their bedrooms, their floors, outside, couches, reading nooks, and their hammock.
