MORE THAN JUST HAWKEYES: IOWA BIRD BOOK REVIEW
I recently read a book about all of Iowa’s state birds - Iowa Bird Book Field Guide by Stan Tekiela. It contains every single bird in the entire state. This 270 page book is quite interesting despite being only about Iowa’s bird population. The book itself is arranged by bird color; white to purple.

Additionally, readers can learn many facts about birds. A reader could learn about Iowa’s state bird, the American Goldfinch, and Iowa’s rarest bird, the Limpkin, which was first discovered in Iowa in 2022. As readers continue, they will find themselves learning about everything from the American Robin, to Blue Jays, Crows, Sparrows and Starlings. Since I got this book as a birthday present in 2022, I have read it during every vacation from school and weekends for a total of 465 times [I counted and have a notebook with my start date] during just one single year.
Overall, I would give this bird book a solid 10/10 because of the colors, lack of spelling errors, very detailed descriptions of each and every bird, and pictures of the nests and babies. If you are looking for a book about birds, this book can be found in Barnes & Noble or in any book store or library.
