What is Valentine's day to you? Do you celebrate it? Do you think it's only for certain ages to celebrate? I think that Valentine’s day is a holiday that is celebrated in many different ways depending on age, or relationship status. When you're in elementary school Valentine’s day is a day that you get candy and cards from your classmates and maybe even watch a movie in class. When you are in middle school you kinda forget about the day because you don't do any candy or card giving out anymore like in elementary school but also aren't quite old enough to really want to give a gift to a specific person but that is also different for everyone. And in highschool you either care about it or you don't, It's like if you are in a relationship with someone you might give them a gift or go on a date but also it's not a big deal if you don't do anything because you're just in highschool so that's not as important as maybe other things. I think when you are an adult, Valentine's day can either be a good thing to do with a significant other or maybe with a group of friends but it can also be a lonely day for the people who aren't in a relationship or maybe don't have friends they can hangout with on that day.

I wanted to see what Clear Creek Amana thought about Valentine’s day so I sent out a google form to the students and staff. I was hoping to see what the school’s thoughts were on what the best gifts are to give or get for Valentine’s day. The Clear Creek Amana students and staff voted that going on a date or out to dinner was the best thing to do for the holiday. With giving or receiving flowers in a not too far away second place and getting gifts like stuffed animals or candy in the third place spot. And surprisingly to me not as many people said that they didn't celebrate as I expected.
On Valentine’s day I sent out another form, one to the student and one to the teachers, asking if they have bought their gift yet and if not if they are going to after school or work. For the students 58% of them have already bought their gifts and 42% have not yet and 65% of students still need to go buy a gift ethier after school or after work. When it comes to the teachers on the other hand though 100% of them do not need to go get a gift after work and 66% of them have already bought a gift. In my opinion Valentine's day is a holiday for everyone but not celebrated by everyone. I also believe the best gift to give or get is definitely doing something with the people you love the most no matter if that's going out to eat, or doing something at home or receiving a gift.
