Groundhog Day was this month. Groundhog day has been happening since 1886. This is one of the longest American traditions and Canadians celebrate it! This year Phil saw his shadow so there will be six more weeks of winter. Less than 50% of CCA students said that Phill would see his shadow. Although this is a long tradition, Phil has only actually been right about 35% of the time. Every year a groundhog from Punxsutawney, Pennsylvania is chosen to be Phil. They wait for the groundhog to come out to see if he will see his shadow or not. This is a really fun tradition that will continue for years to come. This month there were also two school day cancellations due to winter weather. Phil was right this year! Macy Pierce and her family didn't think Phil would see his shadow this year. She isn't too excited for the weather that implies because she doesn't want the cold or snow. So far Macy thinks Phil was right with his prediction and she is enjoying the snow days that the weather has brought.
